MAST DIAGRAMS | HARRIS CHEN

Draw diagrams of current oil rigs and indicate lifting and softener points for third party members.

The colors were selected because it is both contrasting to highlight the important spots on the mast for both colored and black and white paper.
Rig 63 & Rig 17: poly slings are used to reduce stress on the crane at the A leg.
Rig 66 & Rig 62: The spot was moved one beam farther to the right in order to reduce the stress on the mast, but it increases the stress on the crane at the A leg.
Rig 68: The junction near the crown has no angled beams, so softeners are added to prevent slings from slipping while lifting.

These diagrams will be printed and handed out as standards during the next meeting with all of the rig operation personnel.
