KING OF THE HILL
OBJECTIVE
In Introduction to Mechanical Engineering class, we needed to create a vehicle that is able to climb a hill and stay on top of the hill.

DESIGN
-
It was constructed with scrapped wood and cut with a laser cutter.
-
The car was a 9-volt battery (in green), based on the competition rules, tilt sensor (in red), and a gearbox (in purple) as seen in Figure 1.
-
The distance of the wheel (82.30 mm) was stimulated in CAD to ensure the gearbox does not hit the angle on top of the hill (clearance of 2.09 mm to the ramp) as seen in Figure 2.
-
The rails were used to divert the opponent and tilt their vehicle in order to activate their tilt sensor so that they will continue moving down the top of the hill.

RESULTS
The car was able to successfully climb up the hill, yet our sensor was broken, so it would not stop at the top. There was also no need for defense as other cars were slower than this car.
